What's Included

This gives you all the goodies of working for a full semester with me a $2600 value, but without the zeroes. I have put so much time and care into this reflection of all my years of research and practice with teens that struggle in school. I can't wait to get it into your hands so it can start helping people ASAP! It is why I have priced it so low for a limited time. I want this decision to be so, so easy for you!

  • The 21-Day Challenge workbook provides 21 days of easy and proven methods to prioritize, plan and energize efforts for "doing school" based on high quality research in the fields of neruoscience and human development - but you won't know it because it's easy and straightforward.

  • A video and booklet guide for parents and educators full of tips, scripts, and resources to help you hook your student into starting and sticking with the challenge without having to force it or push them through every step. (P.S. These tips work for other things, too!)

  • Press and Play Homework Routine Video: A homework routine video that students can play every time they have homework to do or just when they feel like they need a boost for help with focus, organization prioritization, and motivation.

  • Bonus! All in One Organization System Tutorial Video: It's so darn simple and effective, I couldn't help myself from giving this to you as well. I show you step by step all you need to create the organization system that I've been teaching for so many years to cut down on clutter and find what you need when you need it. It just works. Every time.  I even think it's therapeutic. This alone is worth the cost of the whole program.

Hi! I'm Tricia Underwood

I was not so different in high school and college from the students I now serve. "Smart, but scattered." Big ideas without the belief in my abilities or organizational strategies to match. A sensitive, deeply caring spirit that yearned for the type of depth and meaning that the traditional factory-model high school curriculum did not provide.

After receiving a Masters in Teaching Secondary Language Arts from Tufts University, I started teaching high school students The more I taught, the more my reputation for supporting students who did not fit the traditional school mold grew and I found my calling. I have worked to hone an effective toolbox of strategies that work for students, parents, and teachers as a teacher and Learning Specialist in a variety of schools for over 20 years. My work unlocks and protects students' strengths and spirits as they move through challenges in school. I especially love to work with unique students who do not fit the status quo and am obsessed with distilling the best of research and evidence-based practices that free human potential. I am so truly grateful to impact more and more students to live their free-est, happiest lives now and in their bright futures.

Who is this for?

  • Middle School, High School, and College Students

who feel "smart, but scattered,"* lost, overwhelmed, chronically behind, inconsistent, disorganized, insecure and want to be more on top of things, more secure, happy, relaxed, focused, motivated, and accomplished.  *Smart, but Scattered is one of my all time favorite guides on executive functioning. Highly recommend!

  • Parents and Caretakers

who are looking for an easy way to jumpstart their student's progress or encourage a fresh start in a relaxed and supportive way. To break free from the cycle of nagging, overhelping, and friction about school at home.

  • Educational Professionals

like teachers, tutors, academic coaches, and specialists who are looking to freshen up their toolbox of grab and go strategies and techniques they can use with their students who need a boost to their academic mindset, executive functioning skills, and study routines. You could use this as a mini-unit, a rainy day activity, bell ringers or exit tickets.

Praise for Tricia Underwood - founder and creator of Rare Bird Learning and the Better Plan 21-Day Challenge

“I HIGHLY recommend my former colleague and friend, Tricia Underwood, who created Rarebird. She worked closely with students at Paideia to help them find the internal resources - their own superpowers - to define and achieve success in the classroom and beyond. ”

Rachel Peterson, Dean of Students at the Paideia School, Atlanta, GA

“Being a teen is hard! I think O. sent you a note today thanking you for your help this year.  I cannot overstate the help that your good advice has been this year.  It has kept her grounded.”

Parent of a 9th grader in Atlanta, GA

“"There is no doubt that your work with Zoe is having a big impact. She is thriving and, it seems to me, enjoying life more than ever. That's in no small part thanks to you. She's on top of her work like never before and, not unrelated to that, more confident than she's ever been. It's exciting to see her work to her fullest potential.”
